Why Storytelling Will Be the Biggest Business Skill of the Next 5 Years

Storytelling has become a vital skill in speaking engagements and business meetings all over the world.  It allows the speaker to keep the audience engaged and focused on the topic at hand.  Whether you are speaking to a large or small group of people, you have to find a way to keep them interested or you will lose them before you have the opportunity to get your point across.

Advertisers and companies are enamored with storytelling.  More than ever, businesses, workers, and leaders have better opportunities to stand out, spread messages, and make changes all through storytelling. A good story will excite the crowd.  The storyteller will have characters that the audience can relate to or situations that they have been through.  A creative or real life story will stick in our minds and help us to recall thoughts and theories in a way that numbers, words on a powerpoint, or a bar graph will not.

Social media has made it easier for consumers to communicate directly with companies and allows for a more personal connection.  One excerpt from the article states:

“Fact is, no one cares about your marketing goals. But everyone likes a good story. The businesses that can tell one (and there are some really good ones right now) will have increasing advantage....

I have mastered the art of storytelling and want to share my knowledge and skills with entrepreneurs and business leaders. I will work one on one as well as with groups, through individual coaching and webinars, to show clients how to become comfortable crafting and delivering their personal story. I will zero in on the story, the message and the communication to take clients from average to amazing in their sales and marketing tactics!

Hope for the Hopeless: Learning to Trust God in the Low Points of Our Lives

Everyone can relate to a period in their lives when they have felt extremely alone or abandoned. “GOD, where are you?” No matter how much you cry and pray, it seems that there is only one set of foot prints in the sand and you are certain that they belong only to you. Whether you can believe it or not, that is the time in your life when GOD is most near. GOD never promised us a life without pain and hardship, but he did promise that if you believe in him and his word, he would always be there, even when the road gets tough.

It is easy to say that you have a healthy and fulfilling relationship with GOD when life seems to be breezing by and all of your prayers are being answered. What about those other times? Faith is the definition of believing in something even when you can’t see it. Hebrews 11:1, tells us that “Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” GOD is always working behind the scenes for our good but we have to do our part too. He loves us unconditionally and his only request is to love one another and trust in him. Of course, there is a little more to it but that is the foundation to building a beautiful relationship with the Creator of the world.

We are not expected to understand GOD’s will, but we are required to accept it and allow it to move in our lives. Click the link below and let’s chat!

Do You Know When to Close Doors & When to Open Them?

Sometimes it feels like a never-ending transition from one struggle to another. Other times, there aren’t any arising problems or drama; it’s just moving from one season, degree plan, job, or city to another. I know from experience the dichotomy that living in more than once place or maintaining friendships in multiple social circles can bring. The phrase, “being spread too thin” feels too real when planting roots in a new season while still holding on to old ties. While rose-colored lenses can make this look like: “Multiple homes! So many friends! So many places to go!” be wary of these ties that bind becoming knotted.
Of course, there is nothing wrong with the open hearted, wide-eyed desire to gain all, see all and be all. This can be a beautiful attribute but one can benefit from putting into practice the act of closing doors. It is true that what you do on a small scale renders itself onto a larger one. I have found the nightly pre-bedtime exercise of mentally closing various doors from the day to be extremely beneficial to bringing rest and preparing oneself for the next day. Close the door on the little things like a bad day at the office. Continue to work on visually closing the door on a larger struggle like the tumultuous end to a relationship or loss of something dear to you. When we allow those passages to shut we open ourselves up to new experiences. I’m going to reiterate this life-giving truth: When we actively allow passages to shut we open ourselves up to the possibility of new experiences.
We can be thankful to the encounters we live and the people, places and seasons we learn from. In fact, it is by being grateful to even the sourest of struggles that we open ourselves to the possibility of better seasons, more enriching relationships, and empowered readiness for what we permit to come next.

Deepak Chopra’s “Future of GOD”

Deepak Chopra is an author and a New York Times bestseller.  He has authored eighty books that have been translated into over forty-three different languages.  His books fall into both the fiction and non-fiction categories.  Time magazine heralds Chopra as one of the top 100 heroes and icons of the 21st century and gives him credit as “the poet profit of alternative medicine…”

Deepak Chopra is on a mission to teach the world how to connect back with GOD.  He feels that the world has lost that “link” to our higher power.  We have put up walls and road blocks in our lives that will not allow us to connect with GOD on a deeper and more spiritual level.

How is your relationship with GOD or do you even possess or desire to have a relationship with him?  This was definitely an amazing event and I wish I could have been in the presence of the crowd as he spoke to them.  In the end, Deepak laid out a road map to help people connect back with GOD.

There are four main ways that Deepak spoke of, that can assist us in finding our way.  You have to first, discover the “inner you”.

You can do this by understanding 4 main principles:

1.       Expanding your awareness
2.       Meditation
3.       Prayer
4.       Self-awareness

These four principles are a foundation to begin unlocking your spiritual awareness.  Check out this article and let’s talk about it…. Tell me what you think!

The Benefits of Meditation

The Benefits of Meditation

Meditating is an ultimate stress reliever and it is extremely therapeutic for the mind, body and soul.  It is the process of training your mind to clear itself, completely, of all thoughts. In an article that I read, it stated:

” It’s extremely difficult for a beginner to sit for hours and think of nothing or have an “empty mind.” But in general, the easiest way to begin meditating is by focusing on the breath — an example of one of the most common approaches to meditation: concentration.”

With that being said, I have recorded several amazing meditations for you to enjoy, for purchase and download.  You can take these meditations anywhere and listen to them on your own time.  Learning to meditate takes time and patience.  It is a good practice to start with focusing on a single point.  Some experts say that focusing on your breath by slowly breathing in and out; clearing all other thoughts is a good way to start.

Some of the benefits of meditation are:

Lower blood pressure
Better sleep
Improved blood circulation
Less Stress
Slower respiratory rate
Less nervousness
Lower blood cortisol levels
Better awareness if your surroundings

The most amazing benefit of all is the freeing of the mind and attachment to material things.  For more information on the benefits of meditation, click on the link below!
